Use pencil to mark on strike plate location of deadbolt and spring latch. Using an allen key loosen the set screw and remove the interior door handle. Once the door is open operate the handle and turn the deadbolt. If one or both legs are damaged or bent the screw cover strips need to be replaced.

Fit the straight outer leg into the mounting rail first and then snap in the inner leg which may have a hook. Loosen the set screw. Start at the top end and slide your finger down the strip while pressing firmly. Place the new mortise lock.
